In the middle of this well-preserved Lincolnshire Georgian Market Town is Caistor’s market place. At its heart, there is a complex of five Georgian Grade II listed buildings. Some areas have been empty for decades and the front section for the last ten since the site’s owners, Lincolnshire Cooperative, moved to a modern unit. The prominent position of these buildings on the Market Place makes them important to the local community and a successful future for this site is critical to enhancing Caistor’s amenities.
Last year a Trust was formed to work in partnership with Lincolnshire Co-operative to oversee the regeneration of these buildings. An outline scheme of retail units, holiday-lets, business hub, craft workshops and function room/ public space has come out of initial public consultation.
To take this exciting project to the next stage, the Trust now wishes to appoint a project manager to oversee the development stage of the project. The role will include:
This post is offered subject to funding. The Trust will be offering a 12-month freelance consultancy contract funded through a National Lottery Heritage Fund Development Grant under the Heritage Enterprise programme. The Project Manager will be accountable to Caistor and District Community Trust (CDCT), who will act as the client. There is the potential for the post to be extended by three years into the delivery phase, subject to a successful second stage funding application.
