It is full steam ahead now for getting 2-4 market Place renovated with full funding now in place. Thanks to the community investing nearly £165, 0000 in community shares and the award of a Government Community Ownership Fund Grant of £225,000 from the Department of Leveling Up, to add to the grants from The Architectural Heritage Fund and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Caistor and District Community Trust are delighted to announce the necessary £2.4 million has been raised and preparation work can commence in January with a view to construction work on the Old Co-op starting by summer 2023.
More details of the programme, opportunities to get involved and ways of supporting the project will be published on this site later in January.
What people in Caistor think of the plans
Not only will this historic building be restored but it will also significantly contribute to the economic and social regeneration of Caistor town centre.
The project will create new jobs, support new and existing businesses, increase footfall in town, support our visitor economy, and offer new and exciting volunteering and partnership opportunities for our community.
